Ziff and “The Martial Arts Kid” Snags 1st Place At WorldFest Houston International Film Festival
If there were any doubts that Matthew Ziff was an actor with a sharp career trajectory upward, they have been officially laid to rest.
“The Martial Arts Kid” is a film that continues to build buzz – and win awards.
The film, produced by Cheryl Wheeler and James Wilson, won the “Platinum Remi Award” as it was recognized as being the top film i the Family/Children category at the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival!. It beat out close to 500 other feature film submissions to be awarded the top honor in it’s category.
The film is co-headlined by martial arts/action-movie legends Cynthia Rothrock and Don “The Dragon” Wilson and stars Jansen Panettiere as the titular “Kid. Kathryn Newton plays his love interest and Matthew Ziff plays a schoolmate who bullies him.
The film has a strong anti-bullying message and strong fight scenes, both of which have resonated with critics and audiences alike.
The film also stars TJ Storm, Natasha Blasick, Vicki Vodar, Carl Van Meter Eric Kovaleski and many others.There are over a dozen real-life Grandmasters and martial arts champions in the cast of the film.
“The Martial Arts Kid” is scheduled to hit theaters later this year.
